Sponsored Fund Raising Dance-a-thon in Horndean, Hampshire
Just a massive thank you to everyone who helped out, danced and just came along. We raised over £500, which is fantastic! (I will put the exact amount up soon.) If you want to see images of the 2010 event, please view the gallery.
I am planning on doing it again next year - October/November 2011, and if you are interested in taking part, helping out or sponsoring the event, please contact me
Special thanks to:
Stagecoach Havant
These guys really pulled out the stops - The ONLY dance school in the end that actually made the commitment and came through with it, so a MASSIVE thank you to stagecoach, especially Juli who was very enthusiastic about it from the start and just wished she’d had more time to do more!
Peter Relph and Becky Davey
These two did an AMAZING mix of songs together, and then Pete did a bit of singing and guitar on his own, while Becky did some dancing including making up a dance on the spot.
Emily and Nathan
For being there from the very beginning, to help set up and they did a dance. Also, all that Emily did to help out with the organising, and keeping my spirits up!
Steve Smiley
This man went above and beyond what you could ask of someone. I had 2 dance schools drop out two hours before they were supposed to be performing. My Dad managed to get hold of Steve through some friends who own First Choice Entertainment Agency, and Steve drove from Bognor to Horndean just to help us out. Amazing singer and guitarist, and fabulous person, as is Laura, his other half who came with him to do all the technical side of the performance.
Graham, Maria and Kim
These three came from Winchester to be with us. They did some amazing ballroom dancing, some of which we filmed and can be viewed here.
And of course, a special thank you to ALL the helpers who ran the stalls. Kat Henderson - Co-Event Organiser. Helen Keech, Sarah Woolrich, Jez Emery, Sophie Ward, Steve Johnston, Kire Newport, Holly Kimber, Carla Read, Lucy Loveman and the guys from The Red Van Catering Company.
We would also like to thank the businesses and people who donated things for the dance-a-thon raffle and sponsored the event:
Timpson, Amberly Jewellers, Mr Cheap, Red Lion, Becki's Bits and Bobs Jewellery, Colonial Bar, The Mela, Sound Wave Entertainment, O Sole Mio, Perfect Nail Studio, Greg Boone, James and Merchistoun Hall.
